The European Pollutant Emissions Register yesterday posted a new data layer that allows the register’s contents to be viewed in Google Earth. This new software combination allows site-by-site pollution data, both for ‘greenhouse gases’ and ‘classical pollutants’, to be viewed dynamically against maps, satellite and aerial photographic imagery.
So far, it seems, neither the EEA or the European Commission, who together manage the EPER, have made any wider annoucement about the launch, perhaps to avoid overloading the system on its first few days. So, save for the friends and colleagues I’ve emailed, you read it here first!Author : markjohnston
