FLASH: 10.05 am – The European Parliament Environment Committee has rejected Compromise Amendment 16 (formerly Amendment 500) supporting the use of ETS allowances to reward CCS demonstration projects. There were 33 votes for, 33 votes against, and 1 abstention. By the Parliament’s rule of procedure, such an outcome results in the amendment falling. This followed an EPP motioned to postpone the whole vote was defeated 46-21. Voting on the rest of the file continues. Author : markjohnston
